Get to Know the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy
The FIFA World Cup™ trophy, champions badges and stars on a jersey, and how that story appears in the Kitdesk range.
The object every final is played for
The FIFA World Cup™ trophy is the prize presented to the winning nation at the end of the tournament. The current trophy has been awarded since 1974, after the original Jules Rimet Trophy was retired. It is a solid piece of design history as much as it is sport: a golden sculpture that reads instantly on television, on a podium, and — in stylised form — on commemorative shirts.
Fans do not take the trophy home. What they take home is the jersey that says they were there for the campaign, or that their nation has won it before. That is why a champions badge, a star above a crest, or a commemorative collection exists in a shop like Kitdesk. We sell the shirts. We do not sell copies of the trophy as official FIFA merchandise, and we are not a tournament licensee.
Stars, badges, and what they mean on a shirt
Many federations display a star for each World Cup they have won, usually above the crest. The count is a claim of history, not a fashion extra. Spain’s stars, for example, belong to that men’s World Cup tradition. A champions badge worn after a title is a different mark: it sits on the kit in the seasons that follow a win, then it comes off when the cycle moves on.
If you buy a champions or commemorative jersey, read the product page for the season and which badge is actually applied. A photograph from a previous cycle can linger in a campaign even when the SKU has changed. When in doubt, ask tuki@nordpulse.fi with the product link before you pay.
FIFA World Cup 26™ and this shop
FIFA World Cup 26™ is the next time the trophy will be lifted in North America. Host nations, qualified teams, and authentic national-team shirts will dominate the rails. Some collections lean on the trophy as graphic language; others are simply the home kit with no extra mark. Neither is “more official” at Kitdesk — we are an independent retailer. Official hospitality, tickets, and FIFA’s own retail are separate from this site.
Use the FIFA World Cup 26™ Guide to plan home versus away and size. Use See Every Jersey when you are ready to browse stock. Care for a commemorative shirt the same way you care for any printed jersey: inside out, 30°C, no tumble dryer. The trophy is heavy. The shirt should not be treated like it is indestructible.
